The Ernest & Francille Wilson African American Library

Francille Rusan Wilson, a scholar of African American history, benefited, as many have, from family, friends, and loved ones during her academic journey. Because of segregation, and even into the post-segregation era, many African American scholars relied on extended family and friends in order to conduct research and have places of refuge. The Francille Rusan Wilson Project tells the story of 40 African American scholars who benefited from the warm boundary of hearth and home on their way to becoming academicians. The stories capture the arc of African American scholarship for nearly 100 years.
